Turned 16 two days ago, had an amazing day down at Manly. The weather was finally perfect and sunny. Was given CK One by W and have not stopped smelling myself since. I am a changed woman. Tomorrow I am sitting my driver knowledge test so hopefully I will be able to drive soon. Am currently packing for my trip to China and Hong Kong, for which I am leaving in 2 days! After many many edits, I have reduced what I am taking with me to a small pile. Pack light and shop madly is the plan, looking forward to it.

I came back from china (which by the way was amazing and I shall do a proper post on soon) and it was straight back to school and was greeted with 7 assessment tasks. As well as that, I have had The Wombats (so freakin' great), a formal and have somehow decided that amongst assessment tasks, this is the perfect time for the revival of my social life.

Wore this to my friend's birthday lunch (happy 16th monique!) today. It was super hot out, 32 degrees, kind of unexpected, but my choice of apparel turned out to be perfect enough for heat + ac. Am semi-obsessed with this silk, sheer batwing shirt by a Sydney designer called Amy Kaene. It has such a nice fit and the fact that I got it for a fifth of the price on sale is pretty sweet too. Oh and my other obsession right now are my ear cuffs. They hurt like a bitch after a while but I am optimistic that I will develop a high pain tolerance to them.

this post is dedicated to the genius demigod alexander wang, whose clothes i have adored forever. i feel privledged to own a little slice of alex in the form of two singlets. someday i will own his bags, shoes and gowns...

(as you can imagine, i got a little excited and took quite a few photos...)

it all started with my arrival in soho (which by the way is heaven). it was quite a long walk to where the alex wang store was, but i would have crawled there had it been necessary. inside, the design was impeccable and totally lived up to my expectations from photos i had seen. i slowly walked past the racks, feasting on the deliciousness of the orange silk one shouldered gown and the jet black cut out boots. all the salespeople were dressed head to toe in black and this guy with rad piercings helped me in the fitting rooms. i went in knowing i would get the white singlet but i fell in love with the black too, such a perfect cut ahhh. then when i had purchased them, the rad piercing guy told me that i had to lie on the hammock because it was customary. of course, i gladly obliged and i got to sit on the amazing black fox fur. and that night back at the hotel, i made my friend participate in my weird ritual of me unwrapping each layer and her taking a million photos. so normal.

snapped @ the wombats looking a little excited

watched washington from afar, she was amazing. she sang "i touch myself" and now it is constantly stuck in my head... not gonna lie, the main reason we saw gotye was to get in front of the mosh for the wombats, but i ended up liking it.

waited for an hour and a half to get to the front row of the mosh at the drums, but it was so worth it.

deez is quite a crazy character, very entertaining with his little dances with his band.

the jezabels were so cool, hayley was in all black, red lipstick ahhh. and she was so good live.

photos are finally in (it took 3 weeks...). i had a blast and it was such a good first festival experience. The lineup included the wombats, the jezabels, the holidays, the drums, washington, darwin deez, birds of tokyo, cut copy etc. All the bands were so good live, not like some of the autotuned pop trash who make you wince at their weak, out of tune voices live. Highlight of the day was definitely the wombats. We waited for 2 hours to get a good spot and we ended up being right up front, about two metres away from the sexy guitarist. Maitland was ridiculously hot during the day and everyone was basically running around in bras (or bustiers as they like to call them) and tiny denim undies. I don't know how they survived after about 5pm because it became freezing and i was cold even when rugged up in a big, warm cardigan. I wore cheap mondays, docs, hat, vintage embroidered bag and vintage cape during the day. because i really don't get that many opportunities to wear pink capes in daily life. Now i need to get back to crying over the splendour playlist and scheming up ways to make 400 bucks.

in other news, i'm off to new york in a month asdklfaklsdfj!!!!!! do you guys have any suggestions of where to go? leave a comment, it would mean so much.

after what seems like months of waiting and weekly phone calls to enquire as to whether new stock has arrived, the litas are now mine !!!!!!! yes i realise everyone girl and their mum on the blogosphere owns a pair, but that doesn't detract from their amazingness in my eyes. from the thick wooden heel to the luscious taupe suede-covered stripper platform, i'm in love. plus, they are surprisingly really comfortable! i wore them vacuuming. that's how much i am addicted. i now dwarf my dad, who is a tiny 168cm (love ya dad).

i was literally so restless this morning, i got up at 7:30 and paced, waiting for my parents to get ready and was in Bondi at the doors of Tuchuzy at 9:00am on the dot, right when they open.

last thursday at school we had a fundraiser for japan and we had to wear red, white or black. i wore all black, for some reason i have been wearing so much black lately. it might be due to the fact that i am majorly bummed winter is coming. gone are the days of frolicking around semi nude.

but anyway, i also got new cheap mondays which i am in love with. they fit really well (a little high waisted) and i love the little logos and the hand skeleton on the zipper. i got my jumper in tokyo a few years ago during my third visit to japan. japan is actually my favourite country in the world apart from australia. everyone there is so amazing and there is such good shopping, not to mention the food. oh the food. but in all seriousness, it's exactly one month today since the earthquake and tsunami. i send all my thoughts to the people of japan for the tough months and years ahead, especially to those who have lost loved ones or their home and possessions.

sunday: mostly uneventful, saw a friend, drew all over my hand, some of it still hasn't washed off yet. calm down, i shower daily.

hey guys, been busy with my first week of school! but in between was chinese new year. went out for dinner with the whole family: aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents - the whole shebang. originally was wearing a black dress, but was told it was bad luck and that i should wear red. so this is the closest thing to red that i own, a kind of weird red/white/green paisley semi-sheer vintage dress. the sheerness and length did not impress my mum. got some money in my lucky red pockets woohoo, saving up for more clothes....happy chinese new year!

ps. the shop will be up soon, get excited.

took one self timer shot and gave up because i couldn't get the whole dress in. am still too embarrassed to ask friends to take photos of my outfits hah. have some nice bathroom mirror shots instead. got the necklace in a random toy shop in athens while looking for a present for my 4 year old cousin. cool things can turn up in weird places. in other news, WHERE DID SCHOOL HOLIDAYS GO? school in 2 days.

So this guy from my old school talked to me on facebook yesterday:

Him: long time no talk aye, whatchu doin for straya day?

Me: why do you talk like a bogan?

Straya. Strayaaa maaaaaate. Just no.

But anyway, wore this to the beach, minus the floral wreath. no pants or shoes needed. I never wear bright colours, but i figure what better day to break out the ol' tie dye top than a day when everyone is inebriated and therefore less likely to question the combination of this top and this bikini worn together. swirly colour overload. don't worry, i won't wear this or anything similar again on a non-festive occasion. the glasses were from an random asian 2 dollar shop and plus they double as my expression of national pride with the green and gold. what did you guys do for australia day?

p.s. frozen yogurt is my new obsession

p.p.s. sorry about my face, the glare was so bad, my eyes are even squintier than usual, who knew it was possible.

strokes tshirt - fringe bar markets, denim cutoffs - vintage levis, bag - sportsgirl, doc martens, rings from italy

Saw "burlesque" with some friends today and had lunch. default outfit for lazy days - favourite the strokes tshirt which i wear way too often. new rings from italy: an amethyst one and one which is supposedly made from lava. took photos in my garage since i forgot to bring my camera out with me and also it's too damn hot to be outside, 35 degees celcius baby.

Was in Greece and Italy for 3 weeks, with my school tour. Had an absolute blast.

1. the coolest studded building, 2. best mint gelato of my life, 3. salt lamp and amethyst which i bought at some markets, 4. the view from our hotel in delphi, so stunning.
